The Notched Constant Tensile Load Tester is used to evaluate the stress cracking resistance of polyolefin geomembranes through the Notched Constant Tensile Load (NCTL) test. It is mainly suitable for geomembranes used in landfills. Dumbbell-shaped notched specimens from polyolefin sheets were subjected to a constant tensile load in the presence of surfactant and at elevated temperatures. Record the time when the specimen fails. The results of a series of such tests performed at different stress levels can be obtained by plotting stress level versus time for each stress level on a logarithmic axis.
