Upon immediate contact, the fabric and skin engage in a heat exchange-primarily through conduction-due to temperature variances. This process results in either an increase or decrease in skin temperature. Remarkably, this interaction happens with minimal influence from the fabric's internal heat radiation and natural convection. Generally, as long as the surrounding environment maintains a temperature lower than the human skin, fabric tends to lower the skin's temperature upon contact.
