The apparatus is used to measure the amount of water vapour released by a material at a specified time through its structure. This test is mainly applicable to leather and fabric materials used in shoes and fabrics, and can measure the ability of these materials to absorb the wearer's skin surface perspiration.

Test Principle
H057A Water Vapour Permeability Tester has six separate test stands on a rotating disk, each with a sample stand. The silica gel desiccant is placed in the sample holder, the test material is placed behind the sample holder and fixed with a screw cover. After weighing each sample holder, fill it with silica gel and sample material, and place and lock the sample holder in the rotating structure.

After 7-8 hours, the entire sample frame was weighed again, and the increased amount indicated the water vapor permeability. The whole operation must at 20 ºC and 65% relative humidity of the air conditioning environment, it is very critical.

In addition, standard equipment, including a built-in timer, should be provided with the H057A instrument to record the time of the test.
