This essential flammability test gauges the critical time required for a flame to traverse a specified horizontal distance, ensuring compliance and safety.

Test Principle
In this precise testing procedure, a sample is securely clamped in a horizontal position on a U-shaped holder. The free end of the sample is exposed to a flame of specified height within a test chamber for exactly 15 seconds. Post exposure, the sample is examined to determine whether the flame self-extinguished. The critical measurements include the total distance burnt and the time taken to achieve this distance, providing vital data on textile flammability.
