Designed to meticulously evaluate the horizontal burn rates and resistance of textiles, the Horizontal Flammability Tester by Uts International Co., Ltd is an essential tool, especially for automotive interior fabrics. This test determines the critical timeframe required for flames to traverse a specified distance in a horizontal direction, ensuring safety and compliance with ASTM D5132 standards.

Test Principle
The test involves securely clamping the sample horizontally on a U-shaped holder. The sample's free end is ignited with a precisely controlled flame height inside an enclosed chamber for 15 seconds. Observations are made to see if the flame self-extinguishes and to measure both the distance burned and the time taken to reach that distance.
